If you are checking your comments, please email me. I will keep looking for your address to send a note (how quaint and old fashioned!).Tishhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10518181142727292486noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18722485.post-1163416834851977772006-11-13T06:20:00.000-05:002006-11-13T06:20:00.000-05:00Natalie,Thank you so much for reviewing my article...Natalie,

Thank you so much for reviewing my article. I'm glad it provoke some thinking about your own circumstances. That was my hope. Your metaphors about feeling depleted and then receiving the soaking rain of creativity are very powerful. Sounds like you should do some writing of your own (a poem?!). I really appreciate you taking the time to be one of my reviewers. Hugs!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05656793660129979011noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18722485.post-1163363356606495092006-11-12T15:29:00.000-05:002006-11-12T15:29:00.000-05:00I really enjoyed this piece. I didn't see any use of jargon that confused me. And I just love the paintings I've now seen that I wouldn't have before. They're so vibrant. She does indeed rock!

As for the topic raised by this painting, I completely agree that many women have difficulties striking that balance between fulfilling duties to others and nourishing the creative self. I am always working to find that equilibrium. I know when I've lost it, because I feel stretched thin, irritable, dry, *depleted*. Then I make some time to heed the creative call within, and it's like my garden after a good soaking rain. Everything perks back up and looks greener and fresher. But it takes practice and determination to say, "I will make this time for myself, and I will not feel guilty for it." Boy, is that hard to say sometimes!

I am lucky in that I believe I have found a job which fulfills my calling to help others. It took me some years to understand and accept as natural my need to have a job which doesn't just pay the bills. Not everyone has this requirement; some can work just for the money and then pursue their calling in other ways. My job must be meaningful in and of itself. Of course, I don't want to do it all the time either. I have many other interests which call me and which I must tend to like children. I suppose this could lead us to another topic of creativity as an expression of fertility ... just a thought! :-)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18722485.post-1162572005652598322006-11-03T11:40:00.000-05:002006-11-03T11:40:00.000-05:00Thanks for reading!
